				He faced the formidable Andrew Lichtenberger in a best-of-three heads-up series, who took home $501k for second place.
				It was a unique and memorable event, featuring a "mix-max" format with fewer and fewer seats per table as the event progressed.

				Edoardo Alescio will tell you that he was the least-experienced player at the WPT Venice final table.
				But giving amateurs a chance to beat the pros is a major ingredient in the WPT's formula for success.
				Signore Alescio had to beat the formidable Steve O'Dwyer heads-up, a familiar player to everyone on the WPT circuit at home and abroad.
				Congratulations Edoardo!

			<title>August Apple News Roundup</title>
			<link>http://www.floptech.com/news/index.html#anchor166</link>
			<description>
				The dog days of summer are typically a quiet period for Apple and tech news.
				This definitely not a typical year.
				Motorola Mobility was snapped up by Google, presumably to add its 17,000 patents to Google's patent defense strategy.
				Then HP spun off its webOS hardware and PC hardware groups.
				And finally, Apple CEO Steve Jobs resigned.
				He was immediately appointed Chairman of the Board, COO Tim Cook was promoted to CEO, and the years of uncertainty following Mr. Jobs' 2004 cancer operation have now ended.
				We extend our best wishes to Steve in his new role and in his continuing recuperation.

			<title>WSOP Main Event November Nine determined</title>
			<link>http://www.floptech.com/news/index.html#anchor163</link>
			<description>
				This year's November Nine quite diverse, hailing from seven different countries and ranging in age from 21 to 49.
				But their stack sizes are closer than in most Main Event final tables, and they certainly appear to be tougher, as a group, than many recent Main Event final tables.
				All of which could mean a fascinating battle for the win this November.
				We congratulate the 2011 November Nine and wish them luck.

				All-new aluminum unibody MacBook Airs, with flash RAM instead of optical or magnetic disc mass storage, were also introduced.
				During his part of the presentation, Mr. Jobs revealed that "Back to the Mac" means several things.
				It means that Apple is still focusing its considerable hardware and software resources on improving Mac hardware and software.
				It also means that many iOS multi-touch and app-switching features will be brought to the Mac experience as well.
				We look forward to that day.
