Q: When will FlopZoom have a HUD?
A: Very soon. We have been planning this all along, but we're taking things one step at a time. We needed to add ring game
support before the HUD (Heads-Up Display), and now that ring game support is in, the HUD is now our top priority.
back to top Q: What happens after the trial period ends?
A: If the 30 day or 300 session limit has been reached, FlopZoom will not allow you to add any new sessions.
You will need to either purchase FlopZoom or wait for the next point release to add any new sessions.
Each point release of FlopZoom (1.x releases, not 1.0.x releases) will start with a new 30 day or 300 session trial period. We can't predict the exact release schedule, but they will probably occur several times a year.
back to top Q: How do I purchase FlopZoom?
A: To purchase FlopZoom, choose the "Purchase..." item in the FlopZoom menu. You will see an order form provided
by eSellerate, our e-commerce partner. Simply fill out the form and FlopZoom will receive a serial number from eSellerate and automatically register itself. Your copy of FlopZoom will be fully licensed.
And remember: updates are always free!
back to top Q: I purchased FlopZoom. Now how do I get my free copy of FlopCruncher?
A: Thank you! We've bundled the FlopCruncher odds calculator widget so it's free for everyone who purchases FlopZoom.
Just go ahead and download FlopCruncher and it will run fully licensed. If you installed FlopCruncher before you purchased FlopZoom, FlopCruncher will automatically become fully licensed. Enjoy!
back to top Q: What is the latest version of FlopZoom?
A: The current version is 1.0.3. Please check the version history page for information on all updates.
back to top Q: How do I tell which version of FlopZoom I'm running?
A: In the menu bar, choose FlopZoom > About FlopZoom. You'll see a window with the version.
back to top Q: Will you charge for upgrades?
A: Never. All future versions of FlopZoom will be free upgrades for registered users.
back to top Q: FlopZoom is having problems on startup. What should I do?
A: Sorry about that. Please make sure you are running the latest version. It's right here.
The first time you run a new version of FlopZoom, it may prompt you to allow a rebuild of its database. If it does, please click "Rebuild" and let the rebuild run.
If FlopZoom doesn't prompt you for a rebuild, you should do a manual rebuild. Choose FlopZoom > Preferences... to bring up the preferences window. Click the "Commands" button to show the commands pane, then click the "Rebuild Database" button to start the rebuild process. Then please do the following:
1. If it hangs or crashes, force-quit it (control-click its dock icon and choose force quit) then re-launch FlopZoom.
It will skip over any files that caused it problems on any previous launch.
2. Once FlopZoom is running, choose the File > Save Skipped Sessions menu item. This will create a folder
called "FlopZoom Skipped" on your desktop. Please review the hand history files in this folder and email them to
.
We would greatly appreciate your help. Please help us make FlopZoom a great solution for Mac poker players.
back to top Q: Why can't I find any sessions?
A: If you've played on Full Tilt but FlopZoom can't find any hand history files, please take these steps:
1. Make sure you've requested history files from Full Tilt.
We recommend using the default folder suggested by Full Tilt's software.
Also, be sure you've specified English: FlopZoom only supports English at this time.
2. Make sure that the sessions you've played are Texas Hold'em only.
FlopZoom only supports the Texas Hold'em variation of poker at this time.
3. Make sure that the sessions you've played are tournaments.
FlopZoom only supports tournaments at this time.
4. If your hand history files are not in the default Full Tilt folder:
Please choose File > Look in More Folders... from FlopZoom's menu, then navigate to the folder
that contains your hand history files.
back to top Q: Why only Full Tilt?
A: Full Tilt has supported Macs for quite a while and it's a very large site, so we though we'd start there.
We will add support for other online poker sites in the future, starting with PokerStars.
back to top Q: What about Omaha? Razz? Stud?
A: We hope to eventually support more games than just Texas Hold'em in the future.
The first non-Hold'em game would be Omaha, but at the moment we can't give you a time frame for additional game support.
back to top Q: Can FlopZoom analyze sessions on my Mac's Windows partition?
A: Yes. If you are dual-booting with Boot Camp or if you are running virtualization software, FlopZoom can analyze
hand history files that are stored on the XP or Vista partition. This includes sessions that you played using the Windows Full Tilt program.
Choose "Look in More Folders..." from the File menu and navigate to the Windows volume. Then choose the folder containing the hand history files. FlopZoom will remember the new folder and look in it (and in all previously chosen folders) for new history files each time it is launched.
back to top Q: Can I analyze sessions from other players and computers?
A: Yes. You can copy Full Tilt hand history files from other Macs or Windows machines to your Mac, and FlopZoom can
analyze those files. You can put them in their own folder inside the Documents > HandHistory folder and FlopZoom will find them the next time it is launched.
In fact, it's easy to send a session to another FlopZoom user. Choose "Save Current Session" from the File menu and FlopZoom will save the hand history file of the current session to a folder on your desktop. You can then use the email program of your choice to send that hand history file to another FlopZoom user. They can then add that session to their FlopZoom database.
back to top Q: What are FlopZoom's system requirements?
A: Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later, including all versions of Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard". It's a universal binary so it will run on
Intel, G4, and G5 Macs. We strongly recommend that you run FlopZoom on Macs with processors faster than 1GHz and with more than 1GB of RAM, due to the large amount of data that FlopZoom must handle.
