Straight Flush
CTO "Maniac" 09.25.2006
This is a hand that I saw playing the $2 / $3 no-limit game at Harvey's Lake Tahoe. I had been railing some friends who were playing in the WSOP Circuit event.
Player 1: Q 7
Player 2: A 7
Flop: 3 4 5
Player 1 flopped a queen-high flush and an inside straight flush draw. Player 2 flopped an inside straight draw, the ace-high flush draw, and an inside straight flush draw, and was in position.
Player 1 checks, player 2 makes a pot-sized bet, and player 1 calls.
Turn: 8
This looked like it could not have helped either of the players. But player 1 pushed all-in. Player 2 thought for a few moments, then said "OK, why not. I know I'm behind but I'll gamble with you," and called all-in.
River: 2
This completed player 2's steel wheel, doubling him up. The six of spades would have completed player 1's 7-high straight flush. Player 1 silently stood up and left the table. At least he handled it well...
